DUNYA CAN ALSO BE A MEANS
TO MAKE AAKHIRAH (HEREAFTER) BETTER
After narrating this
story Sheikh Sa’adi RE says that when the love of material wealth takes over a
person then he becomes so preoccupied with it that he starts neglecting
everything else. This is the love of Dunya that has been forbidden. If a person
does not have such all-consuming love for Dunya, then if Allah Ta’alah grants
him material wealth, and that wealth does not get in the way of him carrying
out the duties bestowed upon him by Allah Ta’alah, and the person uses it to
earn Allah Ta’alah’s pleasure and approval, then such wealth is not Dunya,
rather it is a vehicle for the Aakhirah.
