TREAT YOUR RELATIVES WELL: 4

SHARIAH IS NOTHING EXCEPT FULFILLING RIGHTS OF OTHERS

Shariah consists solely of fulfilling rights of others. Some of these are rights of Allah Ta’alah, while others are rights of Allah Ta’alah’s creations. Even amongst rights of people, there are many different categories, for example, rights of parents, rights of spouses, rights of children, rights of relatives, rights of neighbours, rights of travel companions, etc.  The whole of Shariah is a sum of all of these rights. Violating or neglecting any of these rights renders a person’s Deen (religion) imperfect, for example, if a person fulfils the rights of Allah Ta’alah but violates the rights of other people, then his Deen is imperfect and incomplete. Rights of relatives are a very important category amongst all these rights.
